Applies to:
PcVue version 8.00 onwards. |
Summary:
Do not use SYSTEM mode SYSTEM to launch a batch file which takes a long time to execute. For example a batch launching replicationmanager.exe. |
Details:
SYTEM mode SYSTEM allows the batch instruction to consume all CPU time effectively excluding any other application including PcVue. The first manifestation of the problem is with multi-station communication and the watchdog from Process 6 (User Interface). If the batch takes longer than 10 minutes, eventually PcVue shuts down. You must instead use the APPLICATION instruction. This instruction has the advantage of sharing the CPU with all the applications running on the PC and hence does not cause PcVue to freeze and eventually exit. |
