PcVue versions 9.0, 9.0 SP1 and SP2.

 
Summary:

This article describes what to do when WSTPortal has not been properly uninstalled with the corresponding PcVue version


Details:

This problem only occurs under the following conditions.

  • during uninstallation
  • but only when the uninstallation is launched by the installation process of PcVue 9.0 SP2
    i.e. if you answered “OK” to the following message box : “Do you want to completely remove the selected application and all of its features ?”image1

 

 

 

 

 

Several error messages appear:

  1. This action is only valid for products that are currently installed
  2. Web Services Toolkit: Error: 1605
  3. Web Services Toolkit uninstallation has failed. It will be necessary to manually uninstall it.
  4. And the WSTportal 9.0 or 9.0 SP1 remains:

How to handle it:

Just do as the message asks: uninstall via the Control Panel.

Be careful because several WSTportal can be installed, check the version of the WSTPortal before uninstalling it.

  • WSTPortal for PcVue 9.0 and 9.0 SP is 9.0 (the version to uninstall)
  • WSTPortal for PcVue 9.0 SP2 is 9.0.2

The better soloution is to manually uninstall WSTportal just after PcVue 9.0 or 9.0 SP1 is removed, before installing PcVue 9.0 SP2.

If you uninstall WSTPortal although PcVue 9.0 SP2 is already installed it is advisable to execute a Component Registration after the uninstallation.
