Summary:

This article describes how to update the protection key number of an Applicom ISA card


Details:

When one uses an ISA card with a recent version of the Applicom software (later than 3.5), a message like this may appear:

Error LoadCyc, protection key is not installed on one of the configured cards

The condition is due to the protection code of the card, which must be updated.

Solution

  1. Obtain the updated code from Woodhead/Applicom Technical Support (see below).
  2. Run the Applicom utility PCKEY.EXE to record the number onto the PC card.

Note You will need to note the serial number of the card so as to quote it in your request for support.
