Summary:

This article describes how to configure a computer’s Time Zone to fix a problem of time difference between Real Time and Historical modes in the Trend Display.


Details:

Two times are available on one computer, local time and universal time.

The local time depends on the Time Zone configuration of the operating system.

PcVue works on both local time and universal time.

Depending on the operating system version or service pack, some time difference may appear in the Trend Display between Real Time mode and Historical mode.

This may also affect the Alarm Display.

Solution

To fix the problem, the Time Zone configuration of the computer has to be set as follows:

Time

  1. GMT is fixed to GMT0. (Sometimes it may be necessary to fix it to GMT-1)
  2. De-select Automatic adjustment for daylight saving.

Note

This may cause a problem if one is using an other application that needs the correct Time Zone configuration

If you are upgrading an earlier system running with the 6.0x version of PcVue, there are two alternatives:
