DreamReport versions up to and including 5.0 R20-1

Summary:

This article describes a situation where Dream Report installation exhibits unexpected behavior when
used with the Microsoft Windows 10 operating system, version 2004 (to be released on May 28, 2020).

Details:

Dream Report users planning to install Dream Report on Windows 10 2004 should be aware of a
recently discovered installation issue.

For Dream Report versions up to and including 5.0 R20-1, when installing on Windows 10 2004, the
Dream Report Installer crashes, resulting in a Windows blue screen of death (BSOD). This behavior is
related to the installation of the HASP driver, which is required for the hardlock license key, during
Dream Report installation.

The issue has been addressed in the upcoming 5.0 R20-2 release of Dream Report, which will include the
latest version of the HASP driver.

If it is necessary to install a version of Dream Report older than 5.0 R20-2 on MS Windows 10 2004, the
latest version of the HASP driver must be installed on the computer prior the Dream Report installation.

The driver install (haspdinst.exe) can be downloaded from:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/zf58gg6okaf8nu8/haspdinst.exe?dl=0

To install the driver, run the Windows Command Prompt as Administrator and execute the following
command:
\haspdinst.exe -i -kp

HaspInstall

After that, install Dream Report in accordance with the standard procedure.
