Summary:

Problem when declaring a new LON node:

If after installing version of IZOT Net Server and PcVue, you are unable to declare a new LON node in PcVue.
This article may solve your problem.

Details:

This issue may be caused by a registration problem of LNS catalogs on your machine. To fix this problem, please follow these steps:

IZOT Net Server

(Refer to How To Toubleshoot Resource file issues)

Check the path of your Resource File catalog (ldrf.cat)

  1. Press WIN + R key to launch the Run command dialog, type regedit, and then press Enter. If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
  2. Browse to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\LonWorks (64-bit Windows) or HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE \LonWorks (32-bit Windows)
  3. Check the value of the LonWorks Data Path entry
  4. The resource file catalog is located in LonWorks Data Path\Types folder. Typically this should be C:\Users\Public\Public Documents\LonWorks\Types or C:\Program Files (x86)\LonWorks\Types

Check and repair the Resource file catalog

  1. Start the LNS Resource Files Catalog utility from your Start Menu-Echelon LNS Utilities, or start ldrfcat.exe from your Start Menu-Run
  2. Click ok
  3. Browse to the catalog path from step 4 above and click OK
    1. If a CRC error is raised, exit the utility, delete the ldrf.cat file and start the utility again.
    2. If the catalog needs a refresh, select the Refresh Now button
  4. In the different tabs, you should see the “standard.* ” files listed, as well as your user resource files
  5. If standard files are missing, then re-install the LonMark Resource files
  6. If user resource files are missing, you can add them using the Add A New Directory

Open LNS CT

(Refer to articles/203265850)

The “LNS Resource File Catalog Utility” is no longer provided as this feature is now built into the OpenLNS CT.

Refreshing or Rebuilding the Resource files catalog (choose one):

  1. Design Manager dialog: You can rebuild or refresh the LNS Resource Files catalog by clicking the Open LNS CT icon in the Design Manager (upper left-hand side in the windows banner) and select “Refresh the LNS Resource Files catalog” or “Rebuild the LNS Resource Files catalog”.
  2. In a CT network drawing: “Add-Ins menu > Synchronization > Refresh Device Resource Files”

All resources files in the LonWorks\Types folder will be automatically included when the catalog is refreshed or rebuilt.
