 What’s new in version 11

This section lists all major new features and enhancements in version 10.0 SP2.

General

Designer

TouchVue, the mobile application to monitor your system from your pocket.
TouchVue provides ad-hoc access to the Supervisor’s data using Smart Phones and Tablets and is ideal when you require information without the associated clutter that mimics sometimes present. It enables you to:

  • Browse through your process data,
  • Respond instantly to alarms and events, including filtering, masking and acknowledgement,
  • Check event & alarm logs, change set-points, check trends…

Designed for maintenance teams, TouchVue supports alarm notification and contextual access to the related information for first hand analysis.

The new Data Export module allows you taking advantage of your historical data by exporting it to Excel.

3 main features are available:

  • Extract historical data from both proprietary archive units and the HDS databases,
  • Export raw and sampled data to Excel for further processing,
  • Integrated statistical calculations and export of aggregated data into Excel.

Sampling, energy metering, number of occurrences of alarms and durations, up-time, duration in faulty states… all of these are at your fingertips both automatically and on-demand.

As of now, DataVue is no longer available; the new Data Export replaces it.

This version of the Supervisor has been certified for conformance by DNV KEMA, the leading testing organization in the power domain, for its IEC 61850 implementation. The certification follows testing at KEMA Protocol Competence and Test Center in Arnhem, Netherlands, and verifies that the 61850 client driver meets the requirements as defined by the UCA International Users Group. Updated Supervisor’s Add-ons (where applicable):

  • Dream Report® version 4.52 – The powerful tool that helps you design, generate and publish your reports. This version includes major enhancements including:
    • A new alarm module able to calculate stats using the Supervisor’s attributes and filters,
    • Access to the Supervisor’s alarm historical data,
    • And much more…

As of now, the WebScheduler is only available on request and no longer shipped on the Supervisor’s DVD. Please contact you sales representative for more information.

A total of more than 4000 images, 900 animated symbols and a hundred templates are now available on the DVD.

Trend viewer enhancements – It is now possible to display the value of thresholds and change the traces’ colors when a value rises above or falls below its thresholds. These behaviors can also be scripted using SCADA Basic and VBA scripts. X  
Trend viewer: Trends comparison made easy.
Support for time offset between curves and easier selection of predefined time periods.

The maximum number of points that can be displayed in the trend viewer has been increased from 4000 to 12000 points per trace. This enhancement clears most of the constraints related to partial curve drawing. X  
Automatic scrolling of the log viewer as new events appear and need to be displayed. X  
Major changes to the graphic editor include:

  • The ability to predefine more colors in the palette for modern-looking application requiring lots of color variations,
  • Large decrease in complexity of generic symbols thanks to new animations to show or hide a graphic item according to the existence of a variable.

    You can grant or deny template creation, modification, deletion, instantiation…
  • Support for more types of configuration items in templates: Cyclic functions, expressions on variables, alarm program actions, alarm window action, alarm transmission…
  • Parameters, templates and instances can now be created or modified via the XML Generic import.

Major changes in the Application Explorer include:

  • Enhancements to the clipboard
    In addition to variables, it is now possible to copy, cut and paste a wide range of items including data acquisition, networking, alarm synthesis, archives, users…
    Control over dependent items during clipboard operations has been strengthened.
  • Library management now available from within the Application Explorer.
    The library manager comes with a series of must-have features: Create new libraries or import existing one in a few clicks, thumbnails for graphic items… 
  • Various user interfaceenhancements and configuration management fixes. In particular, the user experience when working with the mapping editor is improved.

Smart Generators

 

 

New Smart Generators:

  • Smart Generator for SAIA® PCD controllers based on SAIA PG5 project import.
  • SG-Harmonas: Starting from your RTC Editor project, this Smart Generator allows you to generate a complete application for Azbil Harmonas facility management systems. Based on a pre-defined library of templates, the generated Supervisor application includes variables, OPC communication, archiving and a ready-to-use HMI.

The CAD Smart Generator is now able to automatically associate branches with symbols, according to user-defined rules based on the value of AutoCAD block attributes.   X

Only operating systems from the Microsoft® families of Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 8.1, Windows 2008 Server, Windows 2008 R2 Server, Windows Server 2102 and Windows Server 2012 R2 are supported.

Supported and operational:

  • Windows Vista with SP2 – Business, Enterprise and Ultimate Editions
  • Windows 7 with SP1 – Professional, Enterprise and Ultimate Editions
  • Windows 8 – Pro and Enterprise Editions
  • Windows 8.1 – Pro and Enterprise Editions
  • Windows Server 2008 with SP2 – Web, Standard, Enterprise and Datacenter Editions
  • Windows Server 2008 R2 with SP1 – Web, Standard, Enterprise and Datacenter Editions

For all operational editions of Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 8.1 and Windows Server 2008, both 32-bit (x86) and 64-bit (x64) processor architectures are supported.

Editions of Windows Vista, Windows 7 and Windows 8 designated as ‘N’ or ‘KN’ versions include the same functionality as the corresponding standard editions, except that they do not include certain media-related technologies such as Windows Media Player.

For all platforms, we recommend that you apply any critical updates available from the Windows Update website to ensure the best compatibility and security. Installation of the latest Windows Service Pack may be required on some operating systems.

Required:

  • Microsoft® Internet Explorer version 7 or later.

Microsoft® SQL Server

Using the HDS for database archiving with the Supervisor requires one of the following SQL Server versions:

  • Microsoft® SQL Server 2008,
  • Microsoft® SQL Server 2008 R2,
  • Microsoft® SQL Server 2012.

For each of these, the following editions can be used – Express, Workgroup, Web, Standard, Business Intelligence, Enterprise, Datacenter – depending on your needs and their specific constraints.

 Recommended MINIMUM PC configuration

  • Processor – 1.0 GHz for 32-bit systems (x86) or 1.4 GHz for 64-bit systems (x64).
  • System Memory* – 2 GB of RAM.
  • Available hard disk space – at least 2 GB.
  • Graphics – Super VGA (1024 × 768 pixels) for Windows Server 2008, Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows Server 2012 and Windows Server 2012 R2. For Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8 and Windows 8.1, support for DirectX 9 graphics device with WDDM driver.
  • DVD-ROM drive – Required for installation only.

*If you are using SQL Server, additional memory may be required. See the following topic in the online help for more information: Overview of SQL Server Express Edition.
