[KB483]Opening mimics developed with a VBA version in an ENA version

Summary:

If the project runs with the ENA (Enable Basic) version PcVue, but you have mistakenly modified it with a VBA version any modified mimis will no longer open. You can recover the mimics as follows:


Details:Method 1:

  1. In the VBA version, go to the menu Display\Library converter.
  2. In the dialog box select for Target format ASCII.
  3. Click convert
  4. In the VBA version, open the folder PcVue \ USR \ PROJET_VBA\W
  5. Paste the contents into the folder for the ENA version: PcVue \ USR \ PROJET_ENA\W

Method 2:

  1.  In the VBA version, save the mimics in ASCII format.
  2. In the VBA version, open the folder PcVue \ USR \ PROJET_VBA\W
  3. Paste the contents into the folder for the ENA version: PcVue \ USR \ PROJET_ENA\W
  4. In PcVue, select File / Open and check you can open properly ASCII mimics

Method 3:

If the other methods do not work then you can try to make the required changes manually.

  1. In the VBA version, save the mimics in ASCII format, as before.
  2. Open this folder in the VBA version: PcVue \ USR\PROJET_VBA \ W
  3. Modify its files with an ASCII editor (Notepad is not advised ) such as PSPAD or Notepad++.

  4. Delete the lines between VBA_REFERENCES, BEGIN and VBA_REFERENCES, END.
  5. Save the files and paste them into W folder of the ENA version: PcVue USRPROJET_ENA W
  6. In PcVue, use File / Open and check mimics are properly open.
