Summary:

This article explains how to configure an Open Modbus slave protocol with PcVue when Applicom is the Open Modbus Master.

Details:

With the Applicom card, when you define a new server equipment, it is configured with these parameters:

  • IP address.
  • Slave number set to 0 by default. (The name in the Applicom configuration is “module indicator”.)

In the communications configuration menu:

  • You have to choose the “Open Modbus Slave” protocol.

If PcVue acts as an “Open Modbus TCP/IP” server with a Modbus Address of 0, PcVue will not acknowledge requests coming from the Applicom card.

Solution

Change the slave number in both the Applicom and PcVue configurations to any other value (from 1 to 255).
