DCOM-10021
The launch and activation security descriptor for the COM Server application with CLSID {13486D44-4821-11D2-A494-3CB306C10000} is invalid. It contains Access Control Entries (ACE) with permissions that are invalid. The requested action was therefore not performed. This security permission can be corrected using the Component Services administrative tool.

What to do?

You must change the access authorizations of the corresponding component in the CLSID, which is OpcEnum. Proceed as follows.

  1. Start the Component Services administration tool: Windows Start/Run dcomcnfg.
  2. Open Component Services / Computers / My Computer / DCOM Config. The DCOM objects are displayed.
  3. Display the properties of OpcEnum to Right-click on OpcEnum and select Properties.
  4. In the Security tab, click on Edit so as to correct the authorizations for Launch and Activation Permissions and for Access Permissions. The simplest way is to reset them to ‘Default’.
  5. Click OK, close the Component Services console and restart the installation.
