Summary:

NetDDE problems when using Windows XP.

Details:

Connection timeout is always triggered before having an acknowledgment from DDE.

It may be possible to resolve the problem using the following strategy.

  • To check advices (DSDM NetDDE and NetDDE services started, use LANA number 0, NetBios over TCP/IP activated)
  • XP SP1, rather than SP2 or SP3
  • Same Windows login
  • Same workgroup
  • No firewall
  • No antivirus
  • Local policy as follows
