Applies to:

PcVue version 7.00f onwards (when migrating from 7.00d or earlier).

Summary:

This article describes some problems you can encounter when migrating a Modbus TCP/IP application from a 7.00d version to a 7.00f version of PcVue.

Details:

With version 7.00f, two new types of Byte frame were introduced to manage bytes inversion on byte frames:

  • Byte I/O LMsb
  • Byte I/O MLsb

For any development project started in V7.00d, the only available type was Byte I/O. If  you migrate such a project to 7.00f, a frame of type Byte I/O cannot be properly substituted.

Solution

Note

The COMM.DAT file is created when you first configure a protocol.

Before starting the project with PcVue V7.00f:

  • Edit the file COMM.DAT (in the C folder of the project) to replace the Byte I/O type with the corresponding new type: Byte I/O LMsb, with the full 15 characters for this field.

Warn

The problem also exists with other frame types such as Real and Double Word types.
