Explanation

This warning message warns that you do not have rights to write to an OPC item. This message can appear in the Event Viewer when you create a new OPC variable, and each time you start PcVue after that.

There are two possible reasons for the message :

  • In PcVue, you have specified control for an OPC variable, and the item corresponding to the variable is read-only.

Example: For a MODBUS server, you have memory spaces in Read Only, and memory spaces in Read/Write. If you link a control PcVue variable with a read-only variable

  • It can be due to a problem with users’ rights on OPC.
