Applies to:

PcVue version 7.10c onwards.

Summary:

The code NS FMT is now used instead of NS IEEE to indicate a format problem (interpretation) for a variable.

Details:

If PcVue receives a variable from a PLC or OPC server in an unexpected format, it displays a new invalidity code NS FMT in the Variable Selector.

The code NS IEEE was previously used to indicate a variable conversion problem, e.g. with a Real or BCD (binary coded decimal) value.

Examples

  • An OPC server sends a text value for a register variable.
  • A register variable coming from a PLC is BCD coded yet PcVue is configured for a binary value. This generates the NS FMT code.
