Applies to:

PcVue version 7.00.

Summary:

This article describes the error message that appears when you start PcVue, without having Administrator rights in your Windows user profile, when running under Windows XP or 2000.

Details:

A warning window displays an error message to indicate that the base register can not be written: ‘stuRegisterServer Failed’. It also becomes impossible to insert ActiveX items such as Alarm, Log, Trend and Grid animations. This limitation is due to ActiveX registrations needing administrator rights under Windows 2000.

The same limitations apply when the system acts as an OPC client.

Solution

To start normally, you must declare your user as a power user or Administrator.

Note

That problem does not occur in a Windows NT4 environment.
