Summary:

This article describes how to improve the performance of queries via ODBC (Open DataBase Connectivity).


Details:

For convenience this facility replaces coded ODBC queries with query files. In doing so, it:

  • Omits the item ‘Project Name’ from the data.
  • Enables the syntax for selecting the ‘top n’ points of a trend.

The solution is to use the file QUERY.INI that overrides ODBC queries:

  • Copy the enclosed file QUERY.INI to the BIN folder of the project.
  • Open it in a text editor and adjust the parameters as described below.

The file in this case contains a set of 9 parameters (starting with ‘Rep_…’) plus commentary (starting with ‘//’) to guide you in adjusting them. For each parameter there is a default value whose effect is stated.
