Summary:

This article explains how to configure an Ethernet PLC Coupler using Step7 software from Siemens Automation.


Details:For PcVue to communicate with S7-300/400 Ethernet coupler, you must configure your PLC as follows.In this example, you need to set the FETCH port in PcVue to 2000. Please refer to the PcVue document ‘S7 TCP/IP Protocol.doc’ for how to do so.You configure the PLC as follows:

  1. In the Netpro section of the STEP7 program, click on the CPU.
  2. In the Link/Connection table, right-click and select ‘Insert new Link/Connection’
  3. Select ‘Unspecified Station’, then ‘TCP Link’ and Close.
Note For this link/connection there are three tabs. Please do not modify any settings in the General tab.
  1. In the Address tab, enter the local IP address of the PLC and Port 2000
  2. For the host PC address, leave the IP address and port blank.
  3. In the Option tab, select ‘Fetch Passive’.
  4. Create a second link/connection, repeating the steps above, with a local port address of 2001 and ‘Write Passive’ in the Option tab.
  5. For the Host PC address, leave the IP address and port blank.
  6. Compile the PLC program and download the configuration to the PLC.
  7. Restart the PLC and check its communication with the Supervisor.
