Summary:

HDS archiving – How to fix the error which occurs if using compressed disk options.


Details:

If following compressed options are ticked on a disk with SQLServer already installed:

HDS_archiving___How_to_fix_the_error_1

the following errors will appear and there will be no archiving in PcVue:

  1. Check error messages in HDS trace file, if you get the following error:
    « 2010/02/19,16:50:58.624,VMW-XP-ND,Administrateur,HDS,I,0,0,Loading database : DATABASE1
    2010/02/19,16:51:00.093,VMW-XP-ND,Administrateur,HDS,E,0,0,CDbMgtSQLServer::CreateDatabase LPSQLDMODATABASES Add Trace=-2147216386,Result=1242720 __
    2010/02/19,16:51:00.124,VMW-XP-ND,Administrateur,HDS,E,0,0,CDbMgtSQLServer::CreateDatabase Microsoft SQL-DMO (ODBC SQLState: 42000) returned error 0: [Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]The file “C:\PROGRA~1\ARCINF~1\PCVUE8~1.2\Bin\..\Databases\graph_DATABASE1.mdf” is compressed but does not reside in a read-only database or filegroup. The file must be decompressed.[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]CREATE DATABASE failed. Some file names listed could not be created. Check related errors.

  2. Try to create the database in Sqlserver management. If you get the following message:

HDS_archiving___How_to_fix_the_error_2

You simply apply the following parameters to the database directory.

The crypting and compressing attributes of the directory must be unticked :
