Details:
Eurotherm OPC Server converts analog values to string format. When you connect an OPC client you may encounter problems with interpreting floating point values, depending on the version of Windows OS. In US versions of Windows, “.” is used as decimal point character but in French version “,” is used If you retain the default settings in a French version of Windows, a new error message (NS IEEE, added since version PcVue 7.20a) is displayed in the Variable Selector of PcVue when an analog value is read. Solution There is a workaround for reading floating-point analog values correctly with the PcVue OPC client installed on a French windows version. In your regional settings in the Windows Control Panel, change the decimal point character from “,” To “.”. |
