Summary:
This article explains how the variables loading can be slow due to anti-virus software running on the PC. |
Details:
If your anti-virus software checks all files used on your PC, this may cause a delay in loading variables. When PcVue starts, it locates the VAREXP.DAT file (through the PcVue Database) and loads it. At this point your anti-virus program checks all of it, at the cost of a lot of CPU time. In fact the loading of variables is very slow and if you have many variables (>10,000) there is a possibility that PcVue will stop (Var timeout). To fix this problem you have to configure your anti-virus program to exclude checking the VAREXP.DAT file. |
