Any export via the HDS is limited to 1.4 million records. This arises from the technology that the HDS uses, ADO and ActiveX Data Objects.

Warning: When the result of a request exceeds this limit, the file that is returned may be empty. Beware especially that user is not warned of the error that has occurred.

One of the possible consequences is that the HDS can automatically start a purge process that deletes the data whilst the user thinks that the stored data have already been saved in the export file.

This process has been improved since versions 8.2 SP3, 9.0 SP2 and 10.0 so as to insert an entry in the HDS log file (hds.log) when the HDS detects an export error.
