How to communicate with a Siemens S7-1200/1500.
Details:

To commuicate with an S7-1200/1500 PLC you must use the IP-ISO-S7 driver with the equipment type selected as S7-300/400.

The PLC must also be configured in a particular way. When configuring the PLC using the Siemens TIA Portal, when you create the DB, you must set it to be compatible with S7-300. This cannot be done afterwards – it must be done at the time of creation. Please refer to the attached Siemens documentation, particularly Chapter 4. This is an example with OPC server. For PcVue the OPC should be replaced by Application.
