Summary:

This article warns you about what could happen in a HDS archiving configuration, when a station that is not a historical server, tries to connect to the SQL Server instance.
Details:

If you define an HDS archiving server (or association) in your networking configuration you must be pay attention to archive unit settings and fullfilling the networking lists as described below:

  • The station must belong to the server list configured on the archive unit.

  • The station must belong to the server list configured on the maintenance plan.

Warn

If the server lists are not correctly configured all stations may try to connect to the SQL Server instance leading to unpredictable results.
