  • Japanese (not tested)
  • Korean (not tested)

Sun:

  • Java 2 Runtime Environment (J2RE), Standard Edition V.1.3 and V.1.4.

Summary:

This article describes how to enable the use of Chinese fonts (and in principle, other Asian fonts).

Details:

Chinese characters in some fonts display as boxes in WebVue even though they are displayed normally in PcVue.

Solution

You may either select other fonts or install a more recent version of the Java 2 Runtime Environment.

Example

Using the Chinese Simplified version of Windows 2000, a PcVue mimic window looks as follows:

Chinese_example_on_PcVue

In Webvue V1.3 (with J2RE) the mimic shows:

Chinese_example_in_WebVue1_3

whilst in Webvue V1.4 (with J2RE) the mimic shows:

Chinese_example_in_WebVue1_4
