Applies to:

PcVue all versions.

Summary:

Although it is possible to change the character used as the separator of domain and nature for alarm counters the choice is very limited. If you choose a character that already has special meaning in PcVue it is possible that expressions which use alarm counter variables cannot be parsed correctly and cannot be saved.

Solution:

Only characters from the 7 bit – ASCII character set may be used.

  • Although possible, it is confusing to use the characters a-z, A-Z and numbers, and therefore not advised.
  • The following characters cannot be used because they already have special meaning within PcVue.
    ^ : ; $ # ~ + < > | & / = ! ´ ` * .
  • Some separator characters that have already been tested are
    [ ] _
