Applies to:

PcVue 10.0 SP2 Update 26019, PcVue 11 Update 6058, PcVue 11.1 Update 6009 onwards

Summary:

Activate automatic broadcast of cron.dat.

Details:

Before the above listed versions, in order to broadcast the cron.dat file to other stations, we had to use the SCADA verb CRONTAB(“NetworkBroadcast”).

It is now possible to create generic server and client lists in the Network Configuration to activate automatic broadcast. Using this method cron.dat is broadcast each time it is modified by either the Webscheduler or PcVue.

The list’s must be named as follows:

LConfServer__Scheduler for the server list, containing the server stations of PcVue, which execute the schedulers.
If you put more than one station in the list, only the first present station will execute the broadcast.

LConfClient__Scheduler for the client list, containing the client stations of PcVue, which received the schedulers modification.
No matter which station makes a modification, it will be broadcast to all the client stations.

Automatic broadcast can be configured for both single station and multi station projects. For a single station project you just have to declare the station you use and the server list.

Additional note:

You can now use the SCADA Basic instruction CRONTAB(“TRACE”,”ON”) to generate detailed traces in the Event Viewer to assist with troubleshooting the scheduler’s operation.
