This article explains the option ‘Alarm of message type’ for an alarm variable.

In the Alarm Variable options, there is a check box labelled ‘Alarm of message type’. It is only valid for internal alarm variables.

This option enables you to permit only three states for an alarm: Off, On and Not Acknowledged, and Unavailable.

Warn

When you acknowledge an alarm in the On and Not Acknowledged state, this variable value is reset.
