PcVue all versions.
While the basic content of this article remains valid, details may have changed since it was written.

Summary:

To help you to audit your application, PcVue records information and error messages that occur as you run it.

Details:

Files

The audit files are very useful for solving problems with an application, so we recommend that you use these features.

Note

Use of the audit files will speed up problem resolution if you have to contact ARC Informatique Technical Support.

The files described in this Help book are stored in a folder whose location and default space allowed depend on the version of PcVue you are using.

Changing the size limit

You can change the storage size limit from the default shown above as follows.

  1. Back up the INI.DAT file that is located in the ETC folder of the project.
  2. Open it in a text editor such as Windows Notepad.
  3. Modify the value in the 6th field of PINI line

Note

The number is shown in bytes. For instance, ‘10485760’ = 10MB.

File naming

In versions of PcVue before 8.00, the trace header file was initially named T0 but was renamed to T1 at the next start-up of PcVue.

When you change the storage limit, PcVue continues to record the logs to a file named TRACEHEADER0. From the next start-up, PcVue keeps the most recent four versions of the file, naming them TRACEHEADER1 to TRACEHEADER4.
