Summary:

Using Modbus IP, in network architecture, its possible for the client station to unexpectedly communicate directly with equipment. How?

  • A variable is incorrectly configured with the client station as the server for the variable.
  • Incorrect network configuration.

Details:

To prevent stations other than servers are able to communicate with equipment, you should add to all lines beginning with NETWORK in the file COMM.DAT, the name of a server list as shown below:
