[KB225]Hidden & Read-only files in the Reference Project (Project Version Control)
Applies to:
PcVue all versions. |
Summary:
This article describes how to ensure that Hidden and Read-only files do not prevent copying of the Reference project from the local ‘Usr’ folder. |
Details:
At the station that manages the software versions, you can copy the Reference project by starting PcVue with the Run option -r or -x. Sometimes the process stops unexpectedly, especially with versions earlier than 7.20. The copying of the reference project may stop without any error message, which shows that PcVue has not been notified that it has failed. That can happen when there are files in the reference project’s folders with Hidden or Read-only attributes. The problem may be caused in the first place by the Windows Explorer window, when you request a view of the files in the project’s ‘B’ folder (the local library of images) in either ‘Thumbnails’ or ‘Filmstrip’ format. Windows automatically adds a hidden file called Thumbs.db to the folder to index the images. Solution Here is a work-around:
PcVue will recommence its copying of the reference project.
Further information For details of how to use the Reference project search the PcVue help for Central Project Management. |
