%s is the Server alias in PcVue.

Explanation

When you create a new OPC server in PcVue, the Event Viewer will return the above message if you specify a server name that is not in the Windows Registry.

Unless you have specified a wrong server name, this error message usually appears when you install your application on a different computer, and the OPC servers are not registered on this other computer.

Solution

Check that you have completed the Server name field in the OPC server properties dialog box with a correct OPC server name.

Check that the OPC server is in the Windows Registry :

• Run Regedit.exe, the Registry Editor.
• Double-click on the key HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT and check that a folder with the OPC server name exists.
