The best is to install the software from its website, read the manual and deploy it by yourself.
You can also follow this procedure if it corresponds to your need. Here we want to display basic information only. We use an existing skin named simplistic. Once deployed and selected as the default layout, here is what we get when we double click on Rainmeter.exe from the package you can download at the bottom of this article:

 To start it automatically we propose 2 solutions.

1. Using Windows
   1. Press Windows + R to open Windows run command
   2. Type shell:startup and press Enter
   3. Paste a shortcut of Rainmeter.exe into Startup folder of Windows, you can press alt key and move the file:
      
   4. Restart Windows
2. Using Liberkey launcher
   1. Paste the package into MyApps folder of Liberkey:
      
   2. Click on the installation icon that will appear on Liberkey launcher:
      
   3. Select Rainmeter application and click the installation icon:
      
   4. Go to the shortcut properties of the new installed application:
      
   5. Select the auto run mode into the advanced tab:
      
   6. It will be automatically started following the rules you have set into Liberkey configuration menu:
      
   7. The Liberkey itself will start automatically if you select the correct advanced option:
