Summary:

This article explain the differents steps to configure a LON project using IzoT and PcVue.


Required hardware :
– 1 LIP : Router
– PcVue 15 onwards (With the adequate license)
– Izot CT (With the adequate license)
– 1 API at least
– LINX (if possible) : SwitchPlf 1

The configuration need to be done on :
1- The LIP Web Interface: Every LIP need to be connect to the network by specific IP adress
2-  IZOT CT software : Declaration of all the equipements (LIP, LINX and API)
3- PcVue : To connect  the equipments and display the data

I- Configuration of the LIP:

To configure the LIP there is two possibilities :

1- On LIP web interface :

a- You need to define which LIP is the server (only one can be made as server on your architecture)

b- Configure all address IP for other equipments such as : LINX, other LIP …, Add the IP address of the machine where IzoT CT is used

NB : All the equipments need to have in state column a green check (be enable)

2- On Echelon Configuration Server :

Declare the IP address of the machine where is used the IzoT CT and declare all the IP addresses of the equipments

II- Configuration of the IZOT CT

A- Installation

Prerequisite: Installation of the commissioning Tool (CT) and the VISIO

A.1-  Configuration of VISIO

After the installation of Visio. Before the first utilisation, you need for each users follow the steps below

1- Launch the option, then open Visio Options

2- Go to Trust Center -> Trust Center Settings -> Macro Settings -> Select : Enable All Macros

3- Go to:  Visio Options -> Advanced -> File Locations…

Insert the adequate folders (depend your installation), in case of default installation, insert this paths :

My Shapes: C:\Users\XXXXXXX\Documents\My Shapes

Drawings: C:\Users\Public\Documents\LonWorks\IzoT CT\Drawings

Templates: C:\Program Files (x86)\LonWorks\LonMaker\Visio;1033\Solutions

Stencils :C:\Program Files (x86)\LonWorks\LonMaker\Visio;1033\Solutions

Help:C:\Program Files (x86)\LonWorks\LonMaker\Visio;1033\Help;1033\Solutions

Add-ons: C:\Program Files (x86)\LonWorks\LonMaker;1033\Solutions   

XXXXXXX: Name of the user (You can find it on the file explorer)

A.2-  Configuration of Network card

After the installation of IZOT CT, you need to configure the Network card, follow the step described below

B- Creat a new project

a- To create a new project, you need to launch the Izot Commissioning Tool as Admin

b- In Network Name : Write the name of your project, then select the path of your project in the Drawing Base Path, finaly select Create Network

c-  You can change the name and the localization of the project

  • LNS_IP correspond to the name given to the Network card on the LonWorks Interface

  • Select if the project start OnNet or OffNet

NB :

When you launch the installation of plugins (by pressing Finish), the validation window may open in the background, you need to validate it to complete the installation

C- Start a project

  1. Launch Izot Commissioning Tool (not as Admin)
  2. Select the folder where is your project ( Drawing Base Path)
  3. Select your project in the Drawing Directroy
  4. Open Network

Repeat the step B without registering the plug-in

D- Configuration of a project

After starting a new project using IZOT CT, the configuration will be done using Visio

D.1- Insert the Equipment communicating with IP Address (LIP,LINX):

  1. select the adequate equipment from the Drop Quick Shapes (drag and drop), and give a name to the equipment
  2. In Channel A : from this channel you’ll connect your equipment to the network (Channel 1) you need to choose Type : IP-10L
  3. In Channel B : you need to create a new channel (For example Channel 2) and type : TP/FT-10 (for each equipment create a new channel)
  4. You can commission your router by selecting : Commission router, or let this step after the insertion

NB : To commissionne an equipment you need to be OnNet

  • To commission the equipment you have two possibilities

    • By writing manually the Neuron ID
    • By sending Service Pin

To  send the Service Pin:

  • if the equipment have a Web platform you can send a service from there

  • By pressing the equipment button

D.2- Add API

  • Select Device form the Drop Quick Shapes
  • Give a name to the equipment
  • In Device Template Select : PRIO_26_26_01
  • In Channel: Select the channel where your API is physically connected with the LIP or LINX

Plug-in : Right Click on your API -> Plug-ins-> Select the appropriate one (in case you have a Wago API launch TOPLON PRIO installed before)

II- Configuration in PcVue

1- Create the LON network (connect to the LON DB).
