This summer, PcVue invites you to one of the most renowned city in the world, Paris.

“If you are lucky enough to have lived in Paris as a young man, then wherever you go for the rest of your life, it stays with you, for Paris is a moveable feast.” That is how Paris was described by Ernest Hemingway, a few words depicting a multifaceted town, where the flagship of modernity meets a millennial history.

More than 15 million adventurers discover the French city each year, which makes of Paris the 2nd most visited city in Europe, and the 5th in the world. Fashion, gastronomy, culture, romance, are as much aspects that create the so particular Parisian atmosphere.

Paris is also at the heart of the PcVue Solutions world.  It is where, back in 1981, the company was first created and where its headquarters are still located.  PcVue plays a discreet but important role in the functioning of the city.  To better learn about the connection between PcVue Solutions and the city of Paris, we plan a special “PcVue journey” for your summer in the most beautiful city in the world.

With 3 international airports, 6 great train stations and 15 metro lines, the city of Paris offers an ambitious transport network. The Charles de Gaulle Airport, the second biggest airport in Europe, welcomes more than 65 million travelers each year. This Paris airport chose PcVue to ensure the technical management of many of its installations. More than 311 PcVue and 71 WebVue licenses are installed throughout the site, monitoring the air conditioning, the CCTV, the luggage handling systems and even the CDG Val shuttle, which transports travelers between the four terminals.

For railway travelers, The Gare de l’Est train station, offers a convenient way to directly reach the center of the city. The station, built in 1849 and classified as an historical monument, handles more than 34 million passengers each year.  Its Building Management System is built on a PcVue Solutions platform. Two redundant PcVue Servers handle several batches of the station such as the CCTV, the air conditioning system, the lighting or the electrical distribution.

Now you have arrived in Paris, you will have to find a place to stay. If you want to discover the luxury “à la française”, you can book a room in the famous Ritz Hotel. Founded in 1898 behind the walls of a 18th century town house, the Ritz is ranked among the most luxurious hotels in the world, and counts 159 rooms and suites named after its prestigious former residents. The management of the hotel’s building automation systems is ensured by a PcVue Solution, featuring 1 PcVue Server and 10 PcVue Clients.

Once your suitcases are laid down, you can finally begin your exploration, wandering along the Seine River, strolling in the streets past some of the city’s 1823 historical monuments, visiting the Louvre or the Notre-Dame Cathedral for the history lovers, shopping on the Champs-Elysées… and much more under the watchful eyes of the Lady of Iron, the Eiffel Tower.
